ABOUT

Tech Startup HOKURIKU (TeSH) is a startup creation platform based in the Hokuriku region, with Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) and Kanazawa University as its primary institutions and ten universities and three technical colleges in the region as joint institutions.

TeSH aims to significantly enhance the quality and quantity of university and technical college-launched startups in the Hokuriku region. By nurturing listed companies and new industries that can thrive globally from Hokuriku, we seek to stimulate regional revitalization and contribute to solving social issues in the region by connecting with new human resource needs and capital investment.

PROGRAM

The Startup Ecosystem Co-Creation Program is designed to draw out potential seeds for university-launched startups nationwide and aims to enhance the quality and quantity of initiatives to create these startups, including their expansion into international markets. The program supports activities to form ecosystems where human resources, knowledge, and funds circulate to sustain the continuous creation of university-launched startups while expanding the number of participating institutions.

TeSH, proposed by 12 universities and three technical colleges in the Hokuriku region, was selected as one of the two platforms for the "Regional Platform Co-Creation Support" started in FY 2023 under this program.

TeSH aims to significantly enhance the quality and quantity of university and technical college-launched startups in the Hokuriku region and to form ecosystems where human resources, knowledge, and funds circulate to sustain the continuous creation of university-launched startups nationwide.

The GAP Fund supported by the Startup Ecosystem Co-Creation Program has two funding stages: "Step 1" supports applied research from the design of use hypotheses to the pre-proof of concept phase, and "Step 2" supports the process from proof of concept to the formation of startups.

Logo Design Concept

Using the initial "T" of TeSH(Tech Startup HOKURIKU)as a motif, we expressed the collaboration of the three Hokuriku prefectures (unity) and startups as if they were embarking (sails catching the wind).

▷Red = Human resources (resourcefulness)
▷Yellow (Gold) = Tradition (safety, well-being)
▷Blue = Knowledge (technological capability)
