On September 8, the 12th Hokuriku Industry-Academia Collaboration Forum and Site Visit, hosted by the Hokuriku Economic Federation, was held at JAIST. During the event, Professor Uchida — Head of the TeSH Program and Director of the Startup Promotion Office at the Headquarters for the Promotion of Future Innovation at JAIST — presented TeSH’s initiatives.

The participants included executives of the Hokuriku Economic Federation — such as Chairman Kanai, Vice Chairman Hayashi, and Vice Chairman Ihori — as well as university presidents and representatives from ten universities, including President Terano of JAIST, President Saito of the University of Toyama, and President Naiki of the University of Fukui, totaling approximately 30 attendees.

Professor Uchida highlighted that the number of participating organizations in the TeSH has significantly increased — from 46 at its launch on February 1, 2025, to 112 as of now. He attributed this growth primarily to the expansion of partnerships with private-sector companies, which grew from just one to 36. Notably, 27 of these are core regional enterprises based in the Hokuriku area, most of which are members of the Hokuriku Economic Federation. He further expressed his intention to visit each of these partner companies to discuss concrete forms of collaboration with TeSH, including open innovation and human resource exchange, as part of the program’s future initiatives.

Lastly, Professor Uchida introduced the upcoming industry-government-academia co-creation event, Interdisciplinary Fes., held in Fukui on August 25 and to be held in Toyama on September 26, as part of efforts to revitalize local communities.
